Project Summary

Core problems:

- Based on user interviews, the previous version of the platform had many inefficient workflows, many essential and new features were hard to find and tedious to navigate to.

- Lack of actionable and important insights on homepage, which had a direct impact on user engagement and activity.

- Using outdated or older design system patterns, reward cards were hard to read and take any action on, requiring a redesign.

My Role:

- I was responsible for the redesign of the gamification suite, 'Reward Engine". Collaborating with another designer, UX research, PM & devs to take user painpoints from interviews and create new features, card redesign, and accessibility enhancements as user flows in Figma. I also worked closely with the dev team to handoff and QA the designs once they were published to ensure consistency and continually track metrics post-launch and iterate if any new issues arose.

Impact:

- 3 months after launching the reward Engine, user engagement increased by 25% and there was an influx of new rewards added to the marketplace, users mentioned how much easier and intuitive it was to add & manage rewards compared to the previous design.

Challenges Users Faced

Throughout the user research process, the design team was met with various problems to design for

    • Users reported that managing content and scheduling posts required too many steps and wanted everything posting wise to be upfront
  • Poor feature discoverability
    • Many essential tools and features such as scheduling a post for later or bulk selection was buried under 3 dot option menus which resulted in low adoption rates
  • Outdated UI
    • This part of the platform used outdated patterns that were not part of the newer design system library, which led to inconsistency
  • Lack of actionable insights
    • Users struggled to find clear and meaningful data from reporting tools, which led to frustration in proving metrics & ROI
  • Limited collaboration features
    • Teams that worked across different parts of the platform found using Sprinklr Social difficult to coordinate tasks seamlessly like they could other parts of the platform.

My Role

As a product designer on Sprinklr Social, I worked closely with another designer and our principal designer on the Home page while leading the design for the Reward Engine, User Profile, & settings page for both desktop and mobile.  I also collaborated with the Research team, two Product Managers, and three devs to bring the vision to life. The Sprinklr Social project was one of my most impactful and rewarding experiences and has received  positive feedback from our clients & user base. My focus was on making complex workflows more intuitive, ensuring that marketing and customer care teams could efficiently manage their social presence at scale.

  • Streamlined complex workflows
    • Redesigned homepage and outdated widgets to reduce friction and improve efficiency for social media managers
  • Enhancing Usability
    • Improved analytics dashboards to provide clearer & concise data-driven insights for brands tracking performance
  • Leveraged AI
    • Leveraged our AI components in the UI from our design systems library to help teams respond to customer interactions more efficiently
  • Cross Team Collaboration
    • Communicated with Project Managers, devs & design leadership through Jira to ensure seamless handoff and feedback iteration
  • Standardizing and using established design system patterns such as familiar colors, CTA's, and necessary navigation patterns (left rail & third pane pop out)
  • Designing wireframes for both the desktop & mobile redesign of the 'Sprinklr Empower App'

Through user research, prototyping and ideation, I contributed to a more seamless experience that has empowered brands, through data, to connect with their audience.

Applying learnings from research team

I worked closely with the user research team throughout the design process on this project which allowed me to make data-driven decisions and refine the experience based on real-world feedback

  • Understanding user pain points
    • Identified friction points in the outdated UI, such as lack of consistency from other platforms under Sprinklr
    • Streamlined research findings into actionable design improvements
      • Simplified the navigation
      • Streamlined workflows
  • Prototyping & Iterative Testing
    • A/B testing and interactive prototypes to validate solution and user testing sessions
    • QA work after handoff to make sure design is up to standard and solutions have continued to be met

Use Cases

Daily responsibilites of a manager using Sprinklr management services included supervising content creation & publishing to various platforms while still maintaining their brand voice and consistency. Managers will also want to analyze performance while monitoring for new trends & insights. While designing, I made sure these use cases were met.

    • As a user, it is a must that I can collaborate with internal teams like marketing & customer support to ensure smooth conversation
    • As a user, I need to monitor and manage online reputation by dealing with negative feedback and manage crisis in an effective manor
    • As a user, I need to monitor competitor industry trends and activity to stay informed and capitalize on opportunities

Updates

Why is this needed?

By providing a consolidated, consistent & familiar experience, clients were able to engage with their data & navigate through an experience with minimal problems & pain points, ultimately increasing engagement & sales with their clients

Old Design

  • Low engagement
  • Inconsistent and lack of updated UX patterns
  • Conflicting guidelines & direction
  • Using outdated components & design language
  • Inconsistencies between Social platform & rest of platform
  • Lack of visual hierarchy

Outcome

  • Reduced task completion time
    • By streamlining workflows and reducing unnecessary steps
      • Time spent on scheduling posts & analyzing engagement metrics decreased
    • Increased feature adoption rate
    • Higher engagement and retention from older veteran users of the platform
