Overview

Tasker is a personal passion project of mine that I wanted to design to help business owners solve their problem of having too many pieces of software that they use to manage finances, team members and streamline task tracking & budgeting. Designed for efficiency, it streamlines task tracking, budgeting, and performance insights which helps teams stay organized, productive, and financially on track.

The Challenge

Many small businesses and teams struggle with managing both tasks and finances efficiently. They often rely on multiple tools that don't communicate and aren't seamless. One for project management and another for budgeting which leads to inefficiencies, miscommunication, and difficulty in tracking overall performance. The challenge was to design a centralized dashboard that seamlessly integrates task management and financial tracking while maintaining an intuitive and user-friendly experience.

My Role

As the sole product designer & researcher on my project, I led the end-to-end design process

  • User researching (Understanding target audience and pain points)
    • Pain Points: Business owners found it difficult and time consuming switching between different platforms to get their team & finance management complete
  • Designing wireframes & building out a design system with components

My Solution

To address all of the user pain points and frustration admins were dealing with, I designed Tasker with these goals in mind

  • Unified dashboard
    • One single interface which combines task assignments, deadlines & financial insights
  • Task & Budget Tracking
    • Admins can monitor project progress and keep track of spending in real time
  • Automated Reports
    • Tasker gives frequent data driven reports on team productivity & team help and notifies you when and where to take action, based on AI
  • Collaborative Tools
    • Built-in messaging and sharing tools for seamless collaboration between teams
  • Scalability
    • I envisioned a modular dashboard where the users can add, remove or edit widget sizes, content on display and more

Potential Outcome & Impact

Tasker is not out to the public yet, but I envision it solving many real world business problems and seeing impact immediately
